چکیده

The purpose of this study was to assess and compare the prevalence meniscal, ligament cartilage lesions on knee MRI in a series age- sex-matched patients with without medial meniscal ossicle. Forty-two examinations obtained 42 (36 men, 6 women; mean age, 42.5 ± 22.2 [SD] years; range: 19–65 years) which ossicle present were compared 41.8 20.6 no ossicles present. Two radiologists (R1, R2) blinded presence by reading only fat-saturated intermediate-weighted MR images separately assessed these 84 examinations. Prevalence degree degradation at between knees those In ossicle, R1 R2 detected 33 (79%) 38 (90%) lesions, respectively that involved posterior root (n = 25/32 for R1/R2), horn 19/14 R1/R2) or body 8/10 R1/R2). tear (60% [25/42]/76% [32/42] anterior cruciate (ACL) (48% [20/42]/57% [24/42] as well score (3.35 0.87 3.92 0.78 significantly greater than (root lesions: P < 0.01 both readers; ACL score: readers). On examination, demonstrate frequency femoro-tibial comparison

Snapping Knee Caused by Medial Meniscal Cyst

Snapping phenomenon around the medial aspect of the knee is rare. We present this case of snapping knee caused by the sartorius muscle over a large medial meniscal cyst in a 66-year-old female. Magnetic resonance images demonstrated a large medial meniscal cyst with a horizontal tear of the medial meniscus. Arthroscopic cyst decompression with limited meniscectomy resulted in the disappearance ...

The use of MRI in the investigation of lateral meniscal tear post medial unicompartmental knee replacement

The evaluation of lateral knee pain in patients with a medial unicompartmental knee replacement (UKR) is complex. The native lateral compartment structures are prone to the same injuries as patients with normal knees. Historical reports of lateral meniscal injury post medial UKR have argued MRI evaluation is obsolete due to artefact caused by the prosthesis. We report a case of lateral meniscal...

Middle-aged patients with an MRI-verified medial meniscal tear report symptoms commonly associated with knee osteoarthritis

Background and purpose - No consensus exists on when to perform arthroscopic partial meniscectomy in patients with a degenerative meniscal tear. Since MRI and clinical tests are not accurate in detecting a symptomatic meniscal lesion, the patient's symptoms often play a large role when deciding when to perform surgery. We determined the prevalence and severity of self-reported knee symptoms in ...

A Multicenter Case-Control Study

Main Outcome Measures: This multicenter casecontrol study compared lifelong occupational and job task histories to determine associations with parkinsonism and certain clinical subtypes (postural instability and gait difficulty and age at diagnosis 50 years). Results: Findings in 519 cases and 511 controls were analyzed. Work in agriculture, education, health care, or welding was not associated...

Dynamic ultrasound assessment of medial meniscal subluxation in knee osteoarthritis.

OBJECTIVE Although clinical reports have described medial meniscal subluxation (MMS) in knee OA, few controlled studies have used dynamic US to examine the potential impact of MMS on OA. The aim of this study was to assess MMS in patients with knee OA and in asymptomatic controls by US in different weight-bearing positions. METHODS In a cross-sectional controlled study, MMS was evaluated by U...
